1. Who We Are

Steadio ("we", "us", "our") is a Shopify application that provides AI-powered post-shipment exception handling. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect data when you use our service.

2. Data We Collect

When you install Steadio on your Shopify store, we access and store the following data through the Shopify API:

  • Store information — shop domain, store name, contact email
  • Order data — order numbers, line items, shipping addresses, fulfillment and tracking information
  • Customer data — customer names and email addresses associated with orders that have shipping exceptions

We also collect:

  • Shipment tracking data — tracking numbers, carrier status updates, and delivery events via EasyPost
  • Widget conversations — messages exchanged between your customers and the Steadio support widget
  • Usage data — API call counts, token usage, and feature usage for billing and analytics

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Detect and resolve shipping exceptions (delays, lost packages, failed deliveries)
  • Generate AI-powered customer communications about shipping issues
  • Provide the customer-facing support widget on your store
  • Send escalation notifications to your support team
  • Calculate billing based on your plan and usage
  • Improve our service and develop new features

4. AI Processing

Steadio uses Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze shipping exceptions and generate customer communications. Order data, tracking information, and conversation history may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. 5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Steadio:

  • Shopify — store platform and OAuth authentication
  • EasyPost — shipment tracking and carrier data
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered exception analysis and communications
  • SendGrid — transactional email delivery
  • Fly.io — application hosting
  • Sentry — error monitoring (optional)

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you have Steadio installed on your store. When you uninstall the app, we delete your store data, order data, and conversation history within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Data Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and monitored. Shopify access tokens are stored securely and never exposed to clients.

8. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@steadio.net. Uninstalling the app will trigger automatic data deletion.

9. Cookies

The Steadio website uses no tracking cookies. The embedded support widget uses localStorage to maintain conversation state within a single browser session.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your Shopify store. Continued use of Steadio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
